Diaphragm pump

The volume variation is given by the membrane’s alternate motion which first generates a depression and then a pressure in the pumping chamber. The membrane’s motion is activated either mechanically or pneumatically.
The maximum pressure is limited by the resistance of the membrane’s material, which is usually rubber. With the pneumatic drive, it is proportional to the pressure provided by the supply air.
They are used for small to medium capacities and medium to high discharge heads.
