Seal
A seal is a mechanical sealing device which is inserted and compressed between two objects so as to prevent seepage of liquids or gas.
Self-priming installation
the pump is placed above the level than that from which the liquid is drawn and which must therefore by sucked-up: the pump and the pipe leading to it must be previously primed, meaning that the must be filled with liquid.
Self-priming pump
Pumps with an automatic mechanism which facilitates priming and consequently the start up of the pump.

Santoprene ® (Thermoplastic elastomers)
Thermoplastic elastomers (commonly known as M) are the link between the world of vulcanized rubber and that of thermoplastic polymers. In fact with these M it is possible to obtain the same elasticity and "rubberyness" sometimes similar to those of vulcanized rubber, but they are processed with the same technologies used for thermoplastic materials (injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, etc.) and with the possibility of recycling production scraps.
Santoprene® is resistant to ozone, solar radiations, water, acids, bases, oily liquids, greases.
It can be sterilized both with vapor and ethylene oxide.
It maintains its properties even after many working hours under repeated compressions.
Use temperature: from -40°C to +120°C
Specific weight
Property of a substance expressed as the ratio between the weight of a homogenous body made of such substance and its volume. Also defined as absolute specific weight it is measured in N/m3. The specific weight can also be obtained from the product between the gravity acceleration value and the density of the substance under exam. It is sometimes necessary to compare the weight of a body with that of water so one uses the relative specific weight which is defined as the ratio of the weight of a body and that of an equal volume of distilled water at a temperature of 4 °C.
Submersible pump
Pump equipped with a watertight motor submerged in the liquid to be pumped.
